ONE WORLD WEEK 2019: DECEMBER 1st – 8th
Climate Action & the Sustainable Development Goals
This year’s One World Week takes place from December 1st to 8th 2019. The theme is Climate Action and the Sustainable Development Goals. Throughout the week young people and youth organisations will take part in local and regional activities funded through our One World mini grants.
Youth Climate Summit
One of the many highlights of One World Week 2019 will be the Youth Climate Summit on the 5th of December in the RDS, Dublin.
It will bring together over 400 young people for fun interactive activities and important discussion on climate change, the SDGs, and taking action!
On the day there will be interactive workshops, climate experiments, fun games, and presentations from young people and youth organisations.
One World Week Mini-Grant
Mini Grants for activities and events related to One World Week are now available from NYCI. Grant applications of up to a maximum of €400 will be considered. The deadline for receipt of your application is Friday 28th September. Applications will not be considered after this date. If you have arranged OWW training for after this deadline, you can still apply for a mini grant in advance.
One World Week Training
Book your free 2 hour One World Week workshop aimed at young people and youth workers. The workshops use non-formal development education methods to connect young people and youth workers with Climate Change and help you take action in your community.
Peace, Justice, the Sustainable Developments Goals and YOUth!
One World Week is a week of youth-led awareness raising, education and action that takes place throughout Ireland every year. Young people and those who work with young people learn about local, national and global justice issues and take action to bring about positive change.
We would be delighted to hear from you to explore further involvement in One World Week or any other development education activity.
We are also recruiting for our Development Education Youth Advisory Group. Please contact Valerie for more information
